Primark DTR Plush Bag Stitch and Angel Recalled for Choking Hazard
Primark is recalling DTR Plush Bag Stitch and DTR Plush Bag Angel products because the zipper pull can detach, posing a choking and ingestion risk to children.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The source identifies a risk of serious injury or death from choking and ingestion, which qualifies as a high-risk hazard affecting children. No injuries have been reported, and the risk is theoretical; therefore the score does not exceed 3 per the rubric.
Plain-English summary
Primark US Corp. is recalling the DTR Plush Bag Stitch and DTR Plush Bag Angel. The Stitch bags were sold in blue and the Angel bags in purple, measuring about 10 inches long and 8 inches wide with a swing tag care label on the side. The zipper pull on the back of the plush bags can detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from choking and ingestion.
About 2,900 units were sold at Primark stores located in the northeast and in Florida, Maryland, and Illinois from March 2024 through October 2024 for about $6 each. No injuries have been reported to date.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled plush bags away from children and stop using them. Return the bags to a Primark store for a full refund in the form of the original payment.
