What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: This recall involves a structural vehicle defect affecting engine operation with confirmed real-world incidents of the failure occurring (four reports of stuck throttle). Although no injuries have been reported, the structural defect and confirmed mechanical failures meet the Severe classification threshold.
Plain-English summary
This recall involves approximately 4,144 Model Year 2025 Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles equipped with 600R E-TEC, 850 E-TEC, or 850 E-TEC Turbo R engines. The snowmobiles were manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (Canada) and imported by BRP US Inc. of Wisconsin. They were sold through authorized BRP Ski-Doo and Lynx dealers nationwide between February 2024 and November 2024 for prices between $10,000 and $20,000.
The engine control module (ECM) lower mount support can break during production, leaving a loose part inside the engine compartment. This detached part may enter the throttle body area, causing the throttle to stick. A stuck throttle creates a crash hazard and poses a risk of serious injury or death. The manufacturer has received four reports of stuck throttle incidents; no injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled snowmobiles and contact BRP to schedule a free repair appointment. Dealers will inspect the ECM and throttle body area for any broken mount support parts. If found, dealers will remove the loose part and replace the ECM at no charge. BRP is contacting all known purchasers. For assistance, call BRP toll-free at 888-272-9222 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Monday through Sunday.
