The recall is due to a defect where the throttle lever could become stuck. This malfunction could lead to a loss of speed control and a possible collision. BRP has received two reports alleging stuck throttles, but no injuries have been reported.
Owners of affected units will be notified directly by the manufacturer. Consumers should contact an authorized Ski-Doo dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair. The snowmobiles were sold at Ski-Doo dealers nationwide between December 2002 and August 2004 for approximately $7,000 to $9,900.
