Plain-English summary

The DeNova Detect brand combination natural gas and carbon monoxide alarms (model DD622NCV) are being recalled by distributor New Cosmos USA Inc. About 26,360 units were sold.

The recalled alarms have a defect that causes them to enter sleep mode after alerting consumers to the presence of natural gas or carbon monoxide, if the alert lasts less than four minutes. While in sleep mode, the alarms can fail to detect and alert to new incidents of natural gas or carbon monoxide, creating a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

These alarms were sold at Lowe's stores nationwide and online through Amazon.com, Lowes.com, and Denovadetect.com between December 2023 and July 2024, priced between $90 and $102. No injuries or illnesses have been reported.

Consumers should immediately register online at www.denovadetect.com/safetynotice-dd622 to receive a prepaid shipping package and replacement alarm.
