Jo-Ann Stores LLC is recalling approximately 9,700 Place & Time battery-operated desk lamps with USB charging cords. The lamps were sold in three colors—green (model 4843351B), pink (model 4843351A), and cream (model 4843351D)—and measure approximately 12 inches high when fully extended with a 4-inch wide base.

The recall is prompted by a fire hazard in the battery compartment. During USB charging, the battery compartment can overheat. Jo-Ann Stores has received three reports of the battery compartment melting or popping while the lamp was in use. No consumer injuries have been reported.

The affected lamps were sold at Jo-Ann Stores nationwide and online (joann.com) between May 2024 and July 2024 for approximately $23. Consumers can identify recalled units by checking the model number on the label on the bottom of the lamp.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lamps. Refunds or store credit are available: consumers with a receipt can return the lamp in-store for a full refund, or email a photo of the receipt to [email protected] with subject 'Desk Lamp Recall Refund' for an electronic gift card. Those without a receipt will receive a $23 store credit in-store or by email.
