Siemens SolarReady Meter Combos Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The SolarReady Meter Combo serves as the connection point between utility power, a rooftop solar system, and the main electrical panel of a home. Depending on installation, the internal panel may contain branch breaker circuits for the entire home or part of it, as well as the main breaker service disconnect for the whole home's power. The firm has received eight reports of overheating, including one report of a localized fire. No injuries have been reported.

The products were sold through electrical distributors nationwide from August 2021 through April 2024 for between about $640 and $990, depending on the model. Consumers can contact Siemens to determine if their unit is affected. Siemens will arrange for an on-site inspection and repair or replacement by a licensed contractor at no cost.
