Aiper Elite Pro Robotic Pool Vacuum Cleaners Recalled for Burn and Fire Hazards
About 22,000 Aiper Elite Pro GS100 robotic pool vacuum cleaners are being recalled because the battery can overheat and catch fire when the charging cord is plugged in without the adapter. The manufacturer is replacing all recalled units with a different model.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states 17 reports of overheating with only one minor burn that did not require medical treatment and no property damage reported. Under the rubric, when reported injuries are not serious and the hazard is demonstrated but not grave, the score is at most 3. The fire and burn hazard poses genuine risk of harm even though serious injury has not yet occurred, meeting the criteria for High.
Plain-English summary

The recall is due to a hazard with the charging system. The firm has received 17 reports of the pool vacuums overheating, including one report of a minor burn to a consumer's fingertip that did not require medical treatment. No property damage has been reported.
The recalled vacuums were sold online at www.aiper.com, Amazon.com, www.cocktailpool.com, www.factorypure.com, www.myrobotdirect.com, www.wellbots.com, and uspoolsite.com from January 2023 through May 2023 for between $600 and $800.
