Arctic Cat Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 ATVs Recalled for Crash Hazard

Textron Specialized Vehicles is recalling about 3,800 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 all-terrain vehicles because the A-arm can separate from the frame, causing loss of steering control and crash risk.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states no injuries or deaths have been reported. The hazard—A-arm separation leading to loss of steering control—presents a risk of serious injury or crash, but falls within the High category for risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported. This does not meet the Severe threshold, which requires hospitalization reports or actual injury reports.

Plain-English summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles is recalling approximately 3,800 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 all-terrain vehicles (model years 2022 and 2023). The A-arm can separate from the frame due to cracking of the main frame A-arm mount brackets, causing loss of steering control and posing crash and injury hazards.

The Arctic Cat Alterra 600 ATVs were sold at Arctic Cat dealers nationwide from May 2021 through January 2023 for $9,200 to $11,600. The Tracker 600 ATVs were sold at Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, and Tracker dealers nationwide from May 2021 through January 2023 for $7,700 to $9,900. Consumers can identify recalled units by the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) located on the front right-hand frame tube beside the right-hand shock.

No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ATVs and contact Textron Specialized Vehicles to arrange for free inspection and repair. The main frame will be replaced at no cost if cracking is found, and strengthening brackets will be added. Textron Specialized is contacting all purchasers directly.
