NewCosplay Children's Sleepwear Recalled for Flammability Violation

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (flammability hazard to children) where no injuries have been reported yet. Per the rubric, this qualifies as "High" (score 3): risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.

Plain-English summary

Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD. is recalling NewCosplay branded children's button-up long-sleeved, one-piece sleepwear garments manufactured by Suzhou Rongtai Home Textile Co. Ltd. of China. The recalled sleepwear—made of 100% polyester and sold in sizes 4T through 10 years in "Charmander" and "Pikachu" designs—fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear.

About 868 units were sold online at Amazon.com from November 2021 through April 2022 for $30 each. The garments can be identified by the sewn-in neck label displaying the size and "NEWCOSPLAY" branding, with fiber content and washing instructions on the side seam label.

The recalled sleepwear poses a risk of burn injuries to children. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately remove the sleepwear from children and stop using it. For a full refund, consumers should destroy the garments by cutting them in half, email a photo of the destroyed garment to Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD. at [email protected], and await the refund. More information is available at www.newcosplay.net/pages/product-recalls or by emailing [email protected].
