Inflatable Paddle Boards Recalled for Unexpected Deflation and Drowning Hazard

Surf 9 is recalling Body Glove Tandem and ULI inflatable paddle boards sold at Costco because glue can separate at the seams, causing unexpected deflation and posing a drowning hazard. Three deflation reports have been received with no injuries yet reported.

Surf 9 LLC, of Bonita Springs, Florida, is recalling the Body Glove Tandem Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board, ULI Inventor Inflatable Paddle Board, ULI Zettian Inflatable Supyak, and ULI Lila Inflatable Supyak. The glue on these inflatable paddle boards can separate at the seams, causing the boards to deflate unexpectedly, which poses a drowning hazard to users.

About 13,300 units were recalled in the United States (in addition, about 7,000 Body Glove boards were sold in Canada). The Body Glove boards were sold at Costco Wholesale Warehouses nationwide and online from December 2021 through July 2022 for approximately $630. The ULI boards were sold from July 2021 through July 2022 for between $700 and $800.

Surf 9 has received three reports of the Body Glove boards deflating. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled boards and return them to Costco for a full refund, or contact Surf 9 for refund instructions. Costco is contacting all known purchasers directly.
