Hearth & Hand Tea Kettles Recalled for Fire and Burn Hazards

Target is recalling about 12,800 Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Tea Kettles due to paint chipping that poses a fire hazard, and handle and spout defects that risk burn injuries. No injuries have been reported.

Plain-English summary

Target Corporation is recalling approximately 12,800 Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Tea Kettles manufactured by Wazir Chand and Co Pvt Ltd of Moradabad, India. The 1.75 quart (7 cup capacity) stainless steel kettles have Item Number 324-03-7894 printed on the hang tag.

The paint on the bottom of the kettles can chip, posing a fire hazard. Additionally, the handle can break and the spout can leak, creating a risk of burn injuries. Target has received 27 reports of incidents including kettles leaking, wobbling on the stovetop, handle grips breaking off, and paint chipping or melting on the bottom. One consumer reported a fire caused by paint chipping off the bottom of the kettle. No injuries have been reported.

The kettles were sold at Target stores nationwide and at www.target.com from July 2021 through October 2021 for approximately $35.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tea kettles and return them to any Target store for a full refund or contact Target for a prepaid return label.
