The recalled alarms can fail to alert consumers to a fire. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date. The products were manufactured in China and sold at Walmart, Home Depot, Menards, and other department, home, and hardware stores, as well as electrical distributors nationwide. They were also sold online at Amazon.com, ShopKidde.com, and other online retailers from May 2019 through September 2020 for between $10 and $70.

Consumers should immediately contact Kidde for a free replacement alarm. Until a replacement is installed, consumers should keep using the recalled alarms.
