The product was sold in Bolek's Craft Supplys and Hobby Lobby stores nationwide and online from January 2009 through January 2020 for between $3 and $13. The bottles feature a black continuous thread cap and a white label with the product name and volume printed on the front.

The recall is due to the product's failure to meet the child-resistant packaging requirements of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The essential oil contains methyl salicylate, a substance that must be packaged in child-resistant containers. Because the current packaging is not child-resistant, there is a risk of poisoning if young children swallow the contents. No injuries have been reported.
