The recall is due to the product's failure to meet child-resistant packaging requirements under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The oil contains methyl salicylate, a substance that requires child-resistant packaging to prevent accidental ingestion. The current packaging poses a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
