Profile Design is recalling approximately 260 Aeria Ultimate carbon aerobars. The recall involves aerobars sold individually and as original equipment upgrades on Dimond Brand Bikes and Quintana Roo model bicycles. The recalled bars are matte black, one size, and feature "Profile Design" and "Ultimate" embossed in gloss black on the top of the rear edge. Consumers can identify the recalled bars by measuring the uncut hand extensions from the leading edge of the wing to the tip of the hand extension, which is 13.6 cm (5.3 in) on the recalled units.

The aerobars can crack and break, which may cause the rider to lose control and crash. The company has received two reports of the aerobars cracking or breaking, but no injuries have been reported. The products were sold at independent bicycle stores nationwide from May 2017 through October 2018. The aerobars were sold individually for about $1,300 or as part of bicycles priced between $5,200 and $14,000.
