Healing Solutions Recalls Essential Oils for Child-Resistant Packaging Failure
Healing Solutions is recalling Wintergreen and Birch essential oils because the bottles lack required child-resistant caps, posing a poisoning risk to young children.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (poisoning) where injury has not yet been reported, which aligns with the High severity criteria.
Plain-English summary
Healing Solutions LLC is recalling approximately 32,000 bottles of Wintergreen and Birch 100 percent Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils. The recall includes 10-, 30-, and 60-mililiter amber glass bottles sold prior to April 15, 2019. The bottles fail to meet the child-resistant packaging requirements of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, which creates a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children.
The affected products were sold online at eBay.com, Amazon.com, and Walmart.com from December 2014 through April 2019 for between $10 and $23. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers should immediately remove the essential oils from the reach of children. To obtain a free replacement child-resistant cap, consumers should contact Healing Solutions at 800-819-4098 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. MT Monday through Friday, email [email protected] with “Free Replacement Cap” in the subject line, or visit healingsolutions.com and click on “Recall Information.”
