What this means for you

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (falling speakers) where injury has not yet been reported, which aligns with the High severity criteria.

Plain-English summary

VIVO is recalling approximately 2,400 MOUNT-PLAY5 speaker wall mounts due to a fall and injury hazard. The recalled mounts are black or white steel brackets designed to secure Sonos Play 5 speakers to walls or solid surfaces. They measure about eight inches tall by five inches wide and allow the speakers to tilt and swivel.

The hazard exists because the ledge on the front of the wall mount can loosen, allowing both the ledge and the speakers to fall. This poses an injury hazard to bystanders. VIVO has received three reports of the speaker mounts breaking and speakers falling to the floor, but no injuries have been reported.

The affected wall mounts were sold at Amazon.com, eBay.com, Newegg.com, Rakuten.com, and Walmart.com from March 2018 through June 2019 for about $30. Consumers should immediately remove their speaker from the wall mount and contact VIVO to receive a free repair kit and instructions, a replacement wall mount, or a full refund.
