Saber Grills Recalls Gas Grills and LP Regulators Due to Fire Hazards
Saber Grills is recalling gas grills and LP regulators because a malfunctioning regulator can cause gas leaks and flame bursts, posing fire and burn risks.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural defect in the gas regulator that poses a significant fire and burn hazard, and the source text explicitly reports injuries including singed arms and burned hair, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Saber Grills LLC is recalling approximately 18,800 gas grills and 2,900 warranty parts and conversion kits in the United States, along with 7,700 grills and 500 warranty parts and conversion kits sold in Canada. The recall involves Model RA329 liquid propane (LP) regulators with date codes ranging from 1120 to 1344. These regulators were sold with certain SABER LP grills, warranty part kits, and natural gas to LP conversion kits, or installed as service parts in other SABER grills.
The hazard exists because the LP regulator can allow gas to flow at a higher pressure than intended. This malfunction can result in a gas leak and flame bursts from the burner knobs, creating fire and burn hazards for consumers. Saber Grills has received 35 reports of regulators malfunctioning, which include three reports of singed arms and two reports of burned or singed hair.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled grills and regulators. They should contact Saber Grills at 866-671-7988 or visit recall.sabergrills.com to obtain a free repair kit with installation instructions. A video demonstrating how to install the replacement components is available on the company's website.
