What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (electrical shock) where injury has been reported, but no deaths or serious injuries are documented, fitting the 'High' severity criteria for risk-of-harm products.

Plain-English summary

LocknCharge Technologies LLC is recalling about 550 iQ10 charging stations sold from February 2015 to May 2015. These metal charging stations are designed to charge and store multiple tablet computers. The recall involves units with charging hubs that have no batch code or have batch codes beginning with 14L, 15B, or 15C. The batch code is located on the bottom of the charging hub under a silver data label.

The recall is being issued because a defective USB charging hub can cause an electrical shock to the consumer when the charging station is connected to the electrical supply. LocknCharge has received one report of a woman in Australia receiving an electrical shock from a charging station.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled charging stations and contact LocknCharge Technologies for a free replacement charging hub and instructions for replacing the charging hub. The company can be reached toll-free at 888-943-6803 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or online at www.lockncharge.com.
