The affected models are the OmniGuard 1100 (F6C110-RKM-2U), OmniGuard 1500 (F6C150-RKM-2U), OmniGuard 2300 (F6C230-RKM-2U), and OmniGuard 3200 (F6C320-RKM-3U). These black units with silver/gray front panels were sold through electronics distributors and retailers between September 2003 and June 2004 for prices ranging from $560 to $1,360.
The recall is due to a manufacturing defect where the UPS outputs were wired incorrectly, creating a reverse polarity configuration. This defect poses a potential electrical shock hazard to consumers. The company has not reported any injuries associated with the recalled units.
