Quality Bicycle Products, Inc. (QBP) is recalling WeThePeople Envy BMX bicycles and aftermarket ECLAT Aeon BMX cranksets. The recall involves approximately 70 bicycles and 170 cranksets sold in the United States, as well as approximately 40 bicycles and 40 cranksets sold in Canada. The products were sold from September 2014 through July 2015 at BMX bicycle dealers, WeThePeople distributors, and specialty bicycle retailers nationwide and online.

The left end of the bicycle crankset spindle can break, posing a fall hazard to the rider. WeThePeople has received five reports of the crankset spindles breaking, but no injuries have been reported. The Envy BMX bicycles feature a 20.6 or 21-inch chromoly frame painted dark gold, with an "ENVY20.6" or "ENVY21" stamp on the bottom bracket. The ECLAT Aeon cranksets have a steel, two-piece construction with specific markings on the spindle and crank arms.

Consumers should immediately stop riding the recalled bicycles and cranksets. They should return the products to the store where purchased for a free inspection and free replacement spindle.
