Cabela's is recalling approximately 600 Electronic Jerky Blasters due to a fire hazard. The product, which resembles a caulking gun and is used to make jerky sticks or strips, was sold nationwide from August 2013 through March 2014 for about $150. The recalled item number IK-540848 is located underneath the barcode on the packaging and on the front of the instruction manual.
The battery charger adapter included with the device can overcharge, which may cause the Electronic Jerky Blaster's battery and the battery charger adapter to overheat. There has been one report of the battery and battery charger overheating, but there are no reports of injury.
