The Chamberlain Group, Inc. is recalling 8,542 Portable Jump Starters, model CA1000, manufactured between August 1, 2014, and September 9, 2015. The recall was initiated because the affected units can be charged when the internal battery is either too hot or too cold for safe charging. This defect may cause the unit to overheat.

If the portable jump starter overheats, it increases the risk of a fire. The recall began on October 13, 2015.
