Nuvenco Inc., dba PackTite, is recalling approximately 9,000 PackTite Heating Units for Bed Bug Control. The recalled heaters are white, attached to a black wire frame, and sold with PackTite original bed bug treatment systems. The units were sold to pest control companies and distributors nationwide from October 2009 through January 2013.
The heaters can overheat, melt, and cause a fire, posing a fire hazard. PackTite has received three consumer complaints regarding heaters overheating and melting, with one instance of treated items being singed. No injuries have been reported.
