Plain-English summary
L.L. Bean Inc. is recalling approximately 800 girl's and little girl's jersey knit aurora purple pajama sets. The recall is necessary because the pajamas fail to meet the federal flammability standard for children's sleepwear, which creates a risk of burn injuries to children.
The affected pajama sets were sold in L.L. Bean retail stores nationwide from June 2013 through September 2013 for about $30. The sets feature a solid purple top with long sleeves and purple pants with a pattern and a solid purple waistband. They were sold in girls sizes small (size 8) through extra large (size 18) and little girls sizes small (size 4) through large (6X/7). The product ID numbers 284889 and 284890 are printed on the second side seam label under the care label, and "GPU#6" is printed on the garment label located on the inside left seam near the bottom of the pajama top.
No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. Consumers should immediately take the recalled pajama sets away from children and contact L.L. Bean to receive a free replacement, a full refund, or a store gift certificate. L.L. Bean can be reached at (800) 555-9717 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or online at www.llbean.com by clicking "Product Recall & Safety Info" at the bottom right of the homepage.
