The affected vehicles are white or red and feature "RZR XP" decals on the rear side panels, "Dual Overhead Cam" decals on the hood, and "900 EFI" decals on the front. These vehicles were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from May 2012 through February 2013 for between $16,000 and $16,600.

The recall is due to a defect where the firewall behind the driver and passenger seats can overheat and melt, creating a burn hazard for consumers. Polaris has received one report of an incident in which a consumer sustained burn injuries to a finger.
