Plain-English summary

Bluworld/Nu-Flame, of Orlando, Fla., is recalling about 260 Nu-Flame Vivo and Vivido wall-mounted fireplaces. The recall was initiated because overfilling or spilling fuel while refilling the fireplace fuel cups while in place can lead to the fuel cup being ejected from the fireplace. This poses a fire or burn hazard to the user, bystanders, or items nearby.

The affected products are ethanol-burning fireplaces with a tempered glass shield and a metal curved base. The Vivo NF-W4VIO model measures about 39 inches in width, and the Vivido NF-W3VIO model measures 26 inches in width. Both models are approximately 20 inches in height. The model number is printed on the product packaging.

The firm has received two reports of property damage to clothing, bedding, and a pet bed, but no injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wall-mounted fireplace and contact Bluworld/Nu-Flame to receive a free repair. All known purchasers have been notified of the recall.
