Bugaboo Recalls Cameleon3 Strollers Due to Carry Handle Fall Hazard

The strollers feature an aluminum and plastic frame with rubberized wheels, a removable seat and bassinet, an under-the-seat storage bag, and a sun canopy. The words "Bugaboo" and "Cameleon3" appear on a fabric tag on the side of the sun canopy.

The recall involves approximately 9,200 strollers in the United States and 960 in Canada. These units were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Toys R Us, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bugaboo.com, and other retailers from September 2012 to March 2013 for between $889 and $1,600. Affected strollers have serial numbers ranging from 19010 11153 00001 to 19010 51248 00215, which are printed on a horizontal bar of the chassis beneath the seat. Bugaboo has received 16 reports of carry handles breaking, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately remove the carry handle from the stroller's bassinet or seat. While awaiting a free replacement handle from Bugaboo, consumers can continue to use the seat or bassinet when attached to the chassis, but should not attempt to use them separately.
