The serial numbers of affected units are located on a gray metallic plate on the bottom of the unit; the first two digits are "03" through "06" and the fifth digit is "1."

The recall is due to a risk of allergic reaction. A chemical used in the rubber part on the top cover can result in a reaction that changes the rubber from black to white and poses a risk of skin irritation to the consumer. There are no reported cases of injury associated with this recall.

The transmitters were sold at B&H Photo, Best Buy, camera and mass merchandise stores nationwide, and online retailers including Amazon.com from May 2012 through October 2012 for about $850.
