The recalled fireplaces are free-standing units constructed of glass and black metal. They feature a 21 ¼ inch square base on short legs, black corner pieces holding the glass sides, and a hinged side for adding logs. The model number CT840BL appears on the outside of the packaging and on the instruction manual. The products were imported from China and sold at Christmas Tree Shops retail locations from September 2011 to October 2012 for about $130.
Christmas Tree Shops received three reports of the glass component breaking, but no injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled outdoor fireplace and return it to any Christmas Tree Shops store to receive a full refund.
