Plain-English summary
Target Corporation is recalling approximately 13,000 Circo Children's Task Lamps sold in four styles: Striped, Sports, Dot, and Flower Dot. The lamps were sold at Target stores nationwide and on Target.com from January 2011 to April 2011 for about $13 each. The products were manufactured in China.
The recall is due to a hazard where the lamps can overheat, causing the adhesive inside the lamp socket to melt and migrate into the bulb area. The cooled glue can adhere to the light bulb base, making the bulb difficult to remove and potentially resulting in a broken light bulb and laceration. Additionally, melted flammable glue that migrates onto electrical components poses a risk of fire. Target has received six reports of glue melting and migrating into the bulb area, but no injuries have been reported.
