AmerTac Recalls LED Night Lights Due to Fire and Burn Hazard

American Tack & Hardware Co. Inc. (AmerTac) is recalling approximately 261,000 LED night lights, including models 71193, 71194, and 327879. The recall affects units with "KML" molded on the back. These products were sold at hardware stores, lighting showrooms, and home centers nationwide from March 2009 through January 2011 for about $7 each.
The recall is due to a fire and burn hazard. An electrical short circuit in the night light can cause it to overheat and smolder or melt. AmerTac has received 18 reports of the night lights smoking, burning, melting, and/or charring. These reports include three instances of minor property damage and one minor burn injury.
