Albee Baby is recalling approximately 130 Sorelle brand "Prescott" fixed-sided cribs. These full-sized cribs, sold in an oak finish as 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 convertible models, were sold online by AlbeeBaby.com between July 2009 and October 2009 for between $180 and $210. The cribs are re-labeled fixed-sided Simplicity cribs that contain tubular metal mattress-support frames previously recalled in April 2010.

The recall is due to the risk that the metal mattress support frames can bend or detach. This failure can cause part of the mattress to drop, creating a space into which an infant or toddler can roll, become wedged, become entrapped, or fall out of the crib. CPSC reported the death of a one-year-old child in the related April 2010 Simplicity recall who suffocated when entrapped between the mattress and frame. Additionally, CPSC received reports of 29 incidents involving Simplicity cribs where the frames collapsed, including one entrapment without injury and one instance of minor cuts.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs and find an alternate, age-appropriate, safe sleeping environment, such as a bassinet, play yard, or toddler bed.
