Human Touch LLC is recalling approximately 20,000 "Perfect Chair" recliners, including models PC-095, PC-3, PC-7, and PC-9. The recall affects chairs sold between April 2000 and September 2007 that feature an "open screw" or "dual cover" screw drive centered directly beneath the seat. Chairs with fully covered "quad cover" screws are not subject to this recall.
The recall was issued because the exposed screw on the underside of the chair poses a hazard that can cut or entangle children or pets. Human Touch has reported no injuries to humans, but one report was received regarding a dog's fur becoming entangled in the screw.
Consumers should immediately inspect their chairs to determine if they have the affected screw type. If children or pets are present, consumers should stop using the chair and contact Human Touch or an authorized dealer to obtain a free screw cover kit. The chairs were sold for approximately $1,800 at Human Touch dealers, including Relax the Back and The Healthy Back Store.
