What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported; the notice describes strangulation and entanglement hazards with no incidents reported.
Plain-English summary
This recall involves Autoez-branded bamboo shades sold in brown, in sizes from 24 to 72 inches wide and 64 to 72 inches high, with "Autoez" printed on a sticker label on the top rail. About 550 were sold on Walmart.com from September 2023 through May 2025 for between $21 and $50.
The shades have long operating cords and accessible inner cords that can cause death or serious injury to children through strangulation and entanglement. The CPSC states the shades violate the federal rule for window coverings and present a substantial product hazard, and also violate labeling requirements for window coverings. No incidents have been reported.
Owners should immediately stop using the shades and contact Autoez for a full refund. Consumers should remove the shades, cut the operating cord, write "Recalled" on the shades, dispose of them and email a photograph of the destroyed shades to [email protected].
