Wagner Spray Tech Corp. is recalling approximately 35,000 units of the Wagner Control Spray Plus Model 0414248 paint sprayer. The recall was initiated because the on-off switch can be dislodged from the casing, which results in the exposure of electrical connections. This defect poses an electrical shock hazard to consumers.
The affected model number is located on a white label on the side of the motor housing. Affected date codes, stamped on the bottom of the motor housing near the air hose connection, include Y182R through Y365R, Z001R through Z366R, and A001R through A021R. These sprayers were sold at major chain home centers and hardware stores nationwide from August 2007 through April 2009 for approximately $99. The products were manufactured in China.
There have been no reported incidents or injuries associated with this defect. Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the sprayers and contact Wagner for a free repair.
