Plain-English summary

Pagoda International Footwear Ltd. is recalling CARS Fleece Clog children's shoes sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores in the United States and Canada. The recall involves approximately 73,000 units distributed in the United States and 18,000 units distributed in Canada. The shoes were sold between September 2008 and March 2009 for between $6 and $10 in the U.S. and about $13 in Canada.

The recalled shoes are red plastic molded clogs with fleece lining, designed to resemble a car. They are available in infant sizes 4 to 6 and toddler sizes 7 to 11. Each side of the shoe features two red and black decorative wheels and the number "95". The hazard exists because these decorative wheels can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. The company has received one report of a wheel detaching, but no injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately take the shoes away from children and return them to the nearest Wal-Mart store for a full refund. For additional information, consumers can contact Buster Brown & Co. toll-free at (888) 869-1044, visit www.busterbrownshoes.com, or email [email protected].
