The recalled stools are rectangular benches with fabric-covered seat cushions and metal frames. The hazard exists because loose screws can cause the stool legs to separate or break, which can lead to falls.

Cheyenne has received nine reports of incidents related to this defect, including seven resulting in minor injuries. The stools were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond and other retailers nationwide from October 2004 through March 2006 for about $60. The product was manufactured in China.

Consumers should immediately check the screws on their stools. If the screws are stripped, cannot be tightened, or if a stool leg has broken, consumers should stop using the stool and contact Cheyenne Industries for a free repair kit. Consumers should not return the stools to the store where purchased.
