Plain-English summary

Elegant Baby and Baby Needs Inc. is recalling Heart and Car Sterling Silver Teethers. The teethers are circle-shaped, measure two inches in diameter, and contain beads inside. The center of the teether features either a heart or a car design. The products were manufactured by Angel Ortiz and Fracionamiento Lomas De Taxco S/N in Mexico.

The recall is due to a choking hazard. The heart or car components on the teethers can break off. Elegant Baby has received one report of a baby mouthing the heart when it broke off the teether and became lodged in his mouth.

About 200 units were sold at independent infant clothing boutiques nationwide from February 2005 through September 2006 for about $50. Consumers should immediately take the recalled teethers away from infants and contact Elegant Baby for instructions on returning the teethers for a full refund.
