Global Design Concepts Inc. is recalling about 110,000 magnetic game pieces that were sold with 12-inch "Cars" themed backpacks. The game pieces consist of a red plastic car, a blue plastic car, and two red and black plastic disks. The backpacks were sold at Target stores nationwide from February 2007 through September 2007 for about $13. The game pieces contain small magnets that can fall out of their plastic enclosures.

The hazard exists because young children may swallow or aspirate the detached magnets. If more than one magnet is swallowed, they can attract each other and cause intestinal perforation or blockage, which can be fatal. The firm has received three reports of magnets becoming loose, but no injuries have been reported. The backpack hangtag includes a warning stating: "Choking Hazard-Small Parts. Not for children under 3 years."
