Plain-English summary
Tequila Rose Distilling Co. is recalling approximately 60,000 Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream candle sets due to fire and burn hazards. The recalled products are Valentine's Day gift sets that include a 750-milliliter bottle of Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream liqueur and a pink gel candle contained in a martini glass. The words "Tequila Rose" and "Made in China" are printed on the glass.
The hazard exists because the martini glass containing the gel candle can break while the candle is burning. The firm has received three reports of glasses breaking during use, but no fires or injuries have been reported.
The recalled candle sets were sold at licensed alcohol beverage retail stores nationwide from January 2007 through March 2007 for about $20. Consumers should immediately stop using the gel candle and contact Tequila Rose Distilling at (800) 470-2313 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit www.tequilarose.com, for instructions on how to get a free replacement candle.
