The recall is due to a missing back plate that exposes consumers to live wires. This defect poses a risk of electrical shock to consumers who are changing the light bulb. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
The sconces were sold at Home Decorators Collection stores nationwide and on homedecorators.com from December 2004 through January 2007 for between $70 and $80. Consumers should immediately contact Home Decorators Collection to receive a free replacement sconce or a full refund, including shipping. With either option, consumers will receive $50 towards the replacement fee. Consumers should not attempt electrical repairs of the recalled sconces.
