The 10-inch by 11-inch radio-controlled trucks were sold in blue or green and come with a charger, a 9.6V rechargeable battery pack, and a 9-volt battery. The model number is printed on the packaging above the Universal Product Code.
The electrical circuits within the trucks can overheat, causing the toy to overheat and posing a risk of fire. There have been 14 reports of overheating, smoking, melting, and fire, including two reports of minor property damage to a countertop and an electrical receptacle. No reports of personal injuries have been received.
About 8,000 units were sold by QVC nationwide from November 2005 through December 2005 for between $40 and $44. The product was manufactured in Hong Kong by Creative Innovations & Sourcing LLC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately. QVC will send a letter to purchasers instructing them to return the battery pack and battery charger to obtain a full refund.
