Suzuki Motor Corp. is recalling approximately 19,600 2005 model year LT-A700XK5 King Quad All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). These adult-size ATVs, designed for riders age 16 and older, were sold at Suzuki dealers nationwide from September 2004 through October 2005 for approximately $7,200. The vehicles are available in yellow, green, or red and feature the King Quad model name on the side of the fuel tank.

The recall is due to a potential defect in the tie rod adjustment procedure used during assembly. This improper procedure could lead to the separation of the tie rod end housing from the attachment shaft. If this occurs, the rider could lose control of the ATV, resulting in injury or death. American Suzuki has received seven reports of tie rod end separation, but no reports of injuries.

Consumers should stop using these ATVs immediately and contact a local Suzuki dealer to schedule an appointment for repair service.
