Plain-English summary
Regal Lager Inc. is recalling approximately 425 Phil & Teds e3 Twin Buggies. The recalled strollers feature a metal frame and side-by-side cloth seats and were sold in various colors, including red, orange, black, charcoal gray, and navy. The product is identified by the "e3 twin" embroidery on the front of each seat and the Phil & Teds logo on the crotch piece of each harness.
The recall is due to a defect in the plastic hinge on the handlebar, which can crack or break, causing the handlebar to detach while in use. This poses a risk of injury to young children. Regal Lager has received two reports from consumers regarding the handlebars breaking, but no injuries have been reported.
The strollers were sold nationwide through web retailers, baby furniture stores, and baby product stores from November 2005 through March 2006 for approximately $650. Consumers should contact Regal Lager at (800) 593-5522 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or email [email protected], to receive a free replacement hinge set for the handlebar.
