These batteries were sold with the phones and separately as replacement units between August 2004 and January 2006.

The recalled batteries can overheat, posing a fire or burn hazard. Polycom has received two reports of batteries overheating and causing minor damage to the tables on which the units were placed. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately remove the battery pack from their SoundStation2W unit. The phone can still be used by keeping the charger plugged in.
