American Greetings Corporation is recalling approximately 14,200 packages of DesignWare® 4 Fairy Wands. The recalled party favors are pink or purple wands, 7 inches long, featuring multi-colored beads, feathers, and ribbons. Each package contains four wands and has a light pink cardboard backer with model number WAND1361 printed on the back.
The recall was issued because the wands can break apart, exposing sharp wires that pose a laceration hazard to children. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
The wands were sold at discount, toy, drug, grocery, party, and specialty gift stores nationwide from March 2003 through September 2005 for about $4. Consumers should immediately take the recalled wands away from young children.
