American Suzuki Motor Corporation is recalling approximately 27,000 2004 and 2005 Eiger and Vinson all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). The affected models include the Eiger LT-A400K4, LT-A400FK4, LT-F400K4, LT-F400FK4, LT-A500FK5, and LT-F500FK5, as well as the Vinson KT-A500FK4 and LT-F500FK4. These vehicles were sold through Suzuki motorcycle and ATV dealers from August 2, 2003, to August 26, 2004.

The recall is being conducted because the ATVs were assembled with an incorrectly sized mounting bolt under the fuel tank. This defect could result in fuel leakage, which presents a fire safety hazard and a risk of injury or death. American Suzuki Motor Corporation has not received any reports of incidents related to this defect, and the recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries.

Consumers should take their affected ATV to an authorized Suzuki dealership. The dealer will replace the fuel petcock-mounting bolt and sealing washers at no charge to the consumer.
