The tires were sold at bicycle specialty stores nationwide between February 2005 and July 2005 for between $30 and $60. The Verona model features a red and white sidewall label, while the Lugano model has a green and white label on the lower edge. Both models are packaged in red and white boxes with the Torelli logo.
The recall was issued because the tire can separate from the wheel, resulting in a flat tire. This failure can cause the rider to lose control of the bicycle and fall. No incidents or injuries have been reported to date.
