The affected toys were sold at Nintendo World in New York City and on the company's website from April 2005 through June 2005 for between $8 and $20. They were also distributed as promotions by Nintendo of America Inc. at the E3 Conference in Los Angeles in May 2005. The toys feature a sewn-in label reading "Pokémon Center ©2005 Pokémon /Nintendo /Creatures/ GAME FREAK" on one side and "2005 MADE IN CHINA" on the other.

No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. Parents are advised to take these toys away from children immediately and contact Pokémon USA at (949) 955-1030 to receive a free replacement toy.
